Hey friends!
How is your Summer going? It’s been a full month of sailing for me - I got to share 20 days on the water with some wonderful people in the wilderness of British Columbia. Right before I left, I released a song ‘Honesty’! And I’m excited to finally share it with you here.
Listen to the full song on Spotify now:
This song started out as an acoustic track that I had written when living in New York City in 2013. After returning back to the UK from New York later that year, I brought this song to my long time co-writer and friend Dan Jones (our band used to be called The Electric Camel Project - we were way cool ;)). On August 22nd 2013, we sat down and fleshed out this song together. Below is a picture of Dan from that writing day…I recall leaving this session together elated with a feeling that we had written something special that day.
A couple of years later in 2015, I recorded a 5-track EP at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool with some ridiculously talented session musicians who I feel so grateful to have worked with. Honesty was one of those tracks, and to bring it to life in the studio was an amazing experience.
The video above was filmed by Frankie Turiano in New York City.

If you enjoy this track, it would mean the world to me if you would consider sharing the Spotify link on social media or with someone who might love it too! And I would love to know what you think so feel free to leave a comment below.
Lyrics
Can we ever talk about
Why the lights went out?
You should know, don't you know?
Or can you not show me?
You think it's below me
You think it's below me
My heart is not a board to throw your darts
It's not a canvas for your abstract piece of art
And you think you're so justified
You must be out of your mind
Can we ever talk about
Why we fell so loud?
You should know, don't you know?
I wish that you'd show me
I'm all about honesty, don't you know me?
I swear, I swear, I swear I'm all about honesty
My heart is not a board to throw your darts
It's not a canvas for your abstract piece of art
And you think you're so justified
You must be out of your mind
